Join a guided tour around the ship and discover the history behind one of the world's best preserved 17th-century ships. Our guides tell the dramatic story of, among other things, the construction of the ship, its maiden voyage in 1628, the rapid sinking and the spectacular salvage more than 300 years later.

We offer guided tours every day in English and Swedish. You can participate in an open tour that is included in the admission ticket, book a private guided tour for your group, or experience the museum together with a guide during an evening tour.

Open guided tours

  • For whom: individual visitors and small parties
  • Duration: approximately 25 minutes
  • Price: included in the museum admission

Please note! Open guided tours are for individual visitors only. Groups of more than nine people can book a private guided tour. 

Starting times for English open tours

January-May and September-December:

  • Daily: once an hour between 10.30 and 15.30

June- August:

  • Daily: twice an hour between 9.30 and 16.30

The open guided tours are subject to change. Please contact the information desk for starting times of the guided tours when you are at the museum.

Private guided tours

Are you a group and would like to experience the museum together? With a private guided tour, you will have your own guide who will tell the history of the ship exclusively for you.

  • For whom: groups of 1-30 people
  • Duration: approximately 45 minutes
  • Price: SEK 1,500 per group (in addition to the entrance fees)
  • Group size: maximum 30 people

During January–May and September–December 2026 we offer private tours starting:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 10, 15 and 16
  • Wednesday at 12.30, 14, 15, 17.30 and 18.30
  • Saturday–Sunday at 10 and 15.30

During June-August 2026 we offer private tours starting:

  • Monday-Sunday 10, 11, 12, 14 and 16

Private guided tours can always be booked in English or Swedish. Upon request, the following languages ​​are also available but cannot be guaranteed: German, French, Italian and Spanish.

  • Private tours need to be booked at least 10 days before the visit
  • Please send your booking request to bokningen@vasamuseet.se

For upper secondary school/high school classes we can offer private guided tours under the same conditions as above. Children and young people up to and including 19 years of age do not pay entrance fee. Teachers and other school staff who visit with their students on a school visit also have free admission. Accompanying parents need to buy a ticket.

Evening tours

Would you like to experience Vasa in a different setting?  On an evening tour, your group will have the opportunity to visit the museum with a guide after opening hours. This provides a special atmosphere and a unique setting for your visit.
